In 2004 and 2006, Ian Brashaw, on behalf of a team of consultants, received Awards for Excellence from PIA and UDIA for applied innovation in sustainable development for the C-Air medium density development. In 2009, urbanplan received Awards for Excellence from PIA and UDIA for the residential subdivision of Januburu Six Seasons in the categories of Social and Community Based Planning and Sustainable Urban Development respectively.
In 2020 urbanplan achieved a PIA Award for Excellence for Ooraminna Oaks in the category of The Hard Won Victory.
2022 saw urbanplan achieve another Planning Institute award for excellence for the City of Busselton Coastal Adaptation Strategy under the category of climate Change and Resilience.
